This highly acclaimed 'Relais & Chateaux' resort is located in Le Francois (about 35 minutes from the airport, and 25 minutes from Marin Marina on the Atlantic side) and came rated as being the most luxurious hotel in Martinique. Nestled in a tropical garden facing the coral reef barrier of the lagoon, it boasts 50 suites located in bungalows and decorated with colourful interiors made of natural materials. A great Kitesurfing school is also located by the beach, proposing rental and lessons, with the most experienced instructor on the island (see ‘Kitesurfing’ section). The service was said to be fantastic and as one Captain who spent a few days there, told us: “This is a resort which caters to your every need, even before you know you need it!” This gorgeous 5 star resort also features one of the most luxurious and wonderful spas in the Caribbean. Nested in the tropical park of the hotel, by the beach, they use the exquisite Guerlain cosmetics and offer the full range of massages and face treatments. The facility features jet showers, Jacuzzi, Turkish bath, ice water pool and the décor is very elegant with a Japanese touch. We were told that to complete this soothing experience and to really indulge yourself, a cocktail in the hotel bar, overlooking the lagoon is highly recommended!
