Rhodes Casino is located in the Grande Albergo Delle Rose, a major landmark for the city as well as for boats approaching the harbour.
Built during the early days of the Italian occupation as a luxury hotel in the flambouyant Moorish style characteristic to the Dodecanese; the building was subsequently revamped in an austere Mussolini fashion, before being left abandoned for nearly half a century. Today, it is as much the building and stylish environment as the gambling tables and slot machines that visitors come to enjoy. Several gambling rooms laid out in a rather grand fashion, mix with tastefully decorated lounges, bars and restaurants.
A large section of the Albergo has been returned to its original purpose, and the Hotel suites have all the comforts that can be expected from a carefully restored palace of a bygone era, with the added extra touches such as a private butler service. This is a special place to stay where special attention has been paid towards recreating the falmboyant atmosphere of what was once perceived to be an exotic outpost of civilization.
