Highly acclaimed shipyard founded by famous yacht designer Butch Dalrymple-Smith and Alex Laird, both known for their passion for yachts and pride in beautifully refined work. Focus is on classic- sail or power- yacht restoration, as well as historic/custom replicas. They also work on modern yachts of all sizes and can undertake any kind of refit, supplying a range of skills including woodwork, metalwork, spar-building, rigging, hardware, painting, varnishing and patternmaking. They have unrivalled knowledge about old tools, materials and methods, and frequently work jointly with other shipyards as subcontractors, especially for very specialized projects and luxury interiors. Carrying a large stock of wood, they can also design and make custom hardware and can work with other materials from riveted steel to carbon fibre. In-house engineering & drawing office with special expertise with classification societies and MCA rules.
Facilities include: 1500 sq m covered workshop, equipped with a sliding roof that allows boats to be lifted from the water, with or without rigs up, directly into position in the workshop using their 250 ton crane. Unrestricted access to 2000 ton boat lift, 300 ton Travelift, 660 ton crane and dry docks (up to 300,000 tons!) so any vessel can be accommodated. Container storage is available.
