This narrow gauge rail track with its train and vintage carriages has been open since 1912 and links Palma to Soller. Take a ride along the 27kms of track crossing beautiful countryside, which winds its way up through the Tramuntana mountain range. The journey takes about one hour. The connecting Orange Tram will take you from Soller village to Soller port, winding its way through orange groves from which it gets its name. There is a regular train connection between Palma, Sa Pobla (close to Port de Pollensa) and Manacor. The trains are modern, regular, efficient and cheap. There is a special compartment for bicycles. The train station in Palma is located underneath the Plaza d’Espagna. Most bus routes towards outlying towns and villages start from here as well.
