In a traditional Kastellorizon house on the harbour close to the ferry dock. There are usually a doctor and nurses available, and possibly an army doctor on duty, as there is a good sized army base on the island.

As with almost everything else, a short walk around the harbour will aquaint you with all the services including the bank and ATM machine.
It is possible for the ATM to run out of money on the weekend or when there is a power and communications error on the island.

Olympic Airways fly to Kastellorizo most days during the summer season, and a few times a week there are 2 flights a day-6.45 in the morning and 2.30 in the afternoon. This however, is dependant on the weather. The early morning flight is useful as it tends to be less windy in the early morning and more likely to take off than the afternoon flight.

Water taxi and day trip boat owned by Captain Gergos and family. They have two boats: Agios Gorgos and Barbara that make the trip to Kas in Turkey several times a week. They are also available for nearby island excurtions and trips to the Blue Cave.
A small pretty island with the Church of Agios Georgos close to Mandraki Bay.
This is a favorite swimming and sunbathing spot-there is even a little bit of sand amongst the rocks.
The water taxis will take you there and back if the swim is too far.
The main shop/newsagents on the island, although it only sells Greek publications.
It is the only place to get mobile phone top ups and 3G mobile broadband top ups.
They also sell some tourist gifts and basic provisions, ice-cream etc.

Kastellorizo has been a port of entry/exit for some time now, which makes it an ideal place to check into Greece from Turkey or Cyprus.

On the Western side of the harbour one street back is the post office. It is only open on certain days of the week, but the local newsagents {periptero} which is located centrally on the harbour sells stamps and will also pass on letters and post cards to the island post master.
Check at the town hall office for opening times, or just ask one of the locals.
Kastellorizo does not have a beach, even though it is a little bit sandy in the Mandraki!
But who needs beaches when you can swim from the rocks into the clearest water imaginable.
There are several bathing ladders around the harbour for anyone to use. A few in front of the harbourside Hotels are generally off limits but the Hotel Megisti has a small charge for sunbeds and access to the water, as do Faros Bar {the Lighthouse} and The Aussie Bar.
The Island has several good walks, mainly up into the mountains, which is well worth the trek.
From the top of the whitewashed steps it is possible to walk towards the radio towers and then over to the Acropolis and back down the airport road into the village.
Alternatively head in the opposite direction towards the Mandraki and cross the high plateau known as Avlonia then back down the secret steps {difficult to find} or convenient goat track down to the Mandraki.
Situated on a street running parallel to the harbour, this small supermarket has basic neecessities, fresh fruit & veg and household cleaning products. Even though there is not a wide choice of of more exotic products, there are a few items such as sundried tomaotes, capers etc.
The son speaks good English, and there is always someone around to carry your shopping to the boat.
